Castrul Roman Drobeta (sec.II d.Hr.), construit la capătul Podului lui Traian pentru apărarea capului de pod, este singurul castru roman al cărui pod adiacent este și el vizibil. Zidurile, porta principalis, thermele și sala de festivități sunt parțial restaurate în Parcul Castru din oraș.
