Constanța Casino
The Art Nouveau ghost on the Black Sea coast.

What it feels like
You walk along the seaside boulevard, the waves break beneath you, and there it is — pale, broken, somehow standing. The kind of building that makes you want to write a novel.
Once a gambling palace for European royalty and Romanian high society, the casino fell into decades of disrepair after WWII. Now its restoration is finally bringing back the curved windows, the dome, the iron details. Even closed, its silhouette against the sunset is one of Romania's most photographed views.
Best time to visit
Year-round for exterior viewing. Sunset and golden hour are unbeatable.
How to get there
On foot from anywhere in central Constanța — it's on the seafront promenade, near the Aquarium and the Genoese Lighthouse.
