Situl dacic de la Coțofenii din Dos, pe granița Mehedinți-Dolj, adăpostește una dintre cele mai importante cetăți dacice din sudul Daciei. Casca dacică de paradă din aur descoperită aici (azi la Muzeul Porților de Fier) este cea mai valoroasă piesă de armament dacic din România.
