Lacul Zănoaga, cel mai adânc lac glaciar din România (29m), se află la 1997m în Parcul Național Retezat. Culoarea verde-smarald a apei și crestele zimțate din jur fac din Zănoaga unul dintre cele mai frumoase lacuri montane din Carpați.

June through September. Higher-altitude lakes may freeze or be inaccessible in winter.
