Peleș Castle

The Neo-Renaissance royal jewel above Sinaia.

Historical Ticket required
Peleș Castle, the royal Neo-Renaissance palace in Sinaia, Romania
What it feels like

Stepping inside is like opening a music box — every wood panel carved, every corner curated, the light filtered through stained glass. Outside, the air smells of pine and the mountains rise straight up.

The first European royal palace to be entirely lit by electricity, Peleș houses 160 rooms of carved walnut, Murano glass, weapons collections and Habsburg-era paintings. It sits in the Bucegi foothills, surrounded by formal gardens and the Carpathian forest.
