Mânăstirea Căldărușani (1638), ctitorită de Matei Basarab, este un important centru monahal pe malul lacului Căldărușani. Pictura murală realizată de Gherasim Agora în 1756, biblioteca cu 10.000 de volume (inclusiv manuscrise rare) și muzeul de artă religioasă sunt valoroase.
