Mânăstirea Bucovăț (1506), ctitorită de Barbu Craiovescu, este cel mai important monument medieval al zonei Craiovei. Pictura murală atribuită lui Dobromir Zugravul (cel mai important pictor muntean din sec.XVI), pisania originală și tezaurul de obiecte de cult fac din Bucovăț un monument de primă clasă.
