Mânăstirea Agapia (1647), una dintre cele mai mari mânăstiri din România cu 400 de maici, are picturile realizate de Nicolae Grigorescu în tinerețe (1858-1861). Atelierele de broderie, sculptură și pictură ale maicilor produc obiecte de artă apreciate în toată țara.
