Vârful Gugu (2291m) din Munții Godeanu este cel mai sălbatic și mai puțin frecventat vârf de peste 2000m din Carpații Meridionali. Traseele de la Băile Herculane (6-8h) traversează păduri virgine, pajiști alpine și creste spectaculoase cu faună abundentă (urși, lupi, capre negre).
Best time to visit
June through September for hiking. Snow conditions December through April.
